Cookie Policy
Which cookies dolphinhaley.com uses, why, and how to switch analytics off.
Last updated 20 October 2026
The short version
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a short-lived security cookie. We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.
Analytics is switched on in this browser.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way, so this policy covers them too.
Cookies on this website
| Provider | Name | Type | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | _ga, _ga_MB8B5SZRJB | Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages are used, in aggregate | Up to 2 years |
| Dolphin Haley LTD | dh-analytics-optout (local storage) | Essential | Remembers that you opted out of analytics. Only created if you opt out | Until you clear it |
| Cloudflare | __cf_bm | Essential | Tells people apart from bots to keep the site secure | 30 minutes |
The site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. This sets no cookies, but your browser shares your IP address with Google to download the font.
Why there is no cookie banner
We use analytics only for aggregate statistics to improve the website, and Google's advertising features are switched off. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025) allows cookies used only for this purpose without asking first, as long as we explain them clearly and you can object simply and free of charge. That is what the button above does.
Any other non-essential cookies would need your consent, and we would ask for it first.
How to control cookies
Use the Opt out of analytics button above. It applies to this browser only, so you will need to do it on each device you use. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block and delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Blocking cookies will not stop the site working.
